Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. We also use related technologies such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and (in the studio editor) IndexedDB. In this policy we use the word “cookies” loosely to cover all of these.

We use cookies for a small number of clearly necessary purposes. We do not use third-party advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not embed social-network trackers.

• Authentication. A session cookie issued by our authentication provider (BetterAuth) keeps you signed in across clive, the Skeet studio, and our marketing site. Without it you would have to log in on every page load.
• Security. A small number of cookies are used to protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and to rate-limit suspicious traffic.
• Preferences. Your dashboard layout, dismissed banner state, and theme preference are stored in localStorage on your device so the UI looks the same next time you visit.
• Aggregate analytics. A first-party analytics cookie records pseudonymous, aggregated information about which pages and features are used. It does not include your name, email, or stream content.

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out of clive and reset your saved preferences. You can also block cookies at the browser level, though this will prevent clive from functioning (we need the session cookie to know who you are).

We currently do not respond to the “Do Not Track” browser signal because clive does not engage in cross-site tracking and there is no industry-standard interpretation of the signal we are confident in honouring.

If we change the cookies we use we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. For material changes we will also notify you in-product.
