01.Who we are
clive is operated by the team behind Skeet (the “Service,” “we,” “us”). When this policy refers to “clive” we mean the live-clipping product available at clive.skeet.now. clive is a sub-product of the wider Skeet platform and shares an account system with it, so creating a clive account creates a Skeet account, and vice versa.
For matters covering both products, the broader Skeet Privacy Policy also applies. Where the two documents differ, the policy specific to the surface you are using controls.
02.Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and a salted, hashed password. If you sign in via Google we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google as authorized by you.
- Third-party platform credentials. When you connect YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Kick, or X we store the OAuth access and refresh tokens that those platforms issue so we can post on your behalf or read your stream metadata. We never receive your platform passwords.
- Stream content. While you are live, clive ingests your RTMPS feed to detect clip-worthy moments. The continuous feed is held briefly in a rolling buffer (about 90 seconds) on the server processing your session, and is discarded as new frames arrive. Only the 30-second windows we identify as clips are persisted; the rest of the broadcast is not stored.
- Clips and edits. The 30-second source clips extracted from your stream, the rendered short-form outputs produced by our editor agent, captions, virality scores, and the metadata about which platforms each clip was posted to.
- AI directives.The free-text notes you give clive telling it what to watch for (e.g. “clip funny moments and clutch plays”).
- Service telemetry. IP address, browser user-agent, device type, and the pages or actions you take within clive. Used for security, abuse prevention, and understanding aggregate product usage.
- Payment information. If you subscribe, payment is processed by our payment partner. We receive the last four digits of your card, expiry, country, and a tokenized reference, never the full card number.
03.How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- provide, maintain, and improve clive;
- analyse your stream in real time to detect clip-worthy moments and produce short-form edits;
- post clips to the third-party platforms you have explicitly connected;
- send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, billing receipts) and, with your consent, occasional product updates;
- investigate abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and meet legal obligations;
- secure the service against fraud, account takeover, and platform abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the content of your streams or clips to train third-party AI models. We do not display advertising inside clive and do not share your data with advertisers.
04.Third parties we share with
clive uses a small set of trusted sub-processors to run the product. Each one only receives the data strictly necessary for their function:
- Amazon Web Services: cloud hosting, video ingest, S3 storage of source clips and rendered outputs (US-East region).
- Google (Gemini API): receives the 30-second clip windows and your watch notes so it can judge whether a moment is clip-worthy and propose a caption. Google states it does not use API inputs to train its models.
- YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Kick, X: receive your clips and posting metadata when you authorize a connection and clive uploads on your behalf.
- Resend: transactional email delivery (verification, password reset, beta invitations).
- Sentry: aggregated, scrubbed error telemetry for diagnosing bugs.
We may disclose information to comply with a lawful subpoena, court order, or other legal process; to investigate or defend against claims of abuse; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your data is transferred.
05.Data retention
Stream data held in the rolling buffer is discarded continuously (about every 90 seconds). Source clips and rendered outputs are retained for the lifetime of the associated Project unless you delete them. Account information is retained while your account is active and for up to 30 days after deletion to allow recovery from mistaken deletion, after which it is purged from production systems. Encrypted backups follow a 90-day rolling retention.
You can delete a clip at any time from the dashboard. You can delete your entire account from /dashboard/profile or by emailing legal@skeet.now.
06.Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, port, restrict, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You may also have the right to object to certain kinds of processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email legal@skeet.now from the address associated with your account. We will respond within 30 days. We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.
07.Security
We protect your data with TLS in transit, encryption at rest for stored clips and database content, scoped credentials for every sub-processor, mandatory multi-factor authentication for production access by our engineers, and routine review of access logs. No system is perfectly secure, however; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
08.International data transfers
clive is operated from the United States and the cloud infrastructure we use is currently hosted in US-East. If you use clive from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required by applicable law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for these transfers.
09.Children
clive is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact legal@skeet.now and we will delete the account.
10.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
