Meld Studio

Meld Studio

The simplest of the three. Meld ships native multistream on the free plan, no plugin, no Restream, no Ultra upgrade. Add clive as a second destination, hit Go Live, done.

Activate a clive session

Open your clive dashboard and click Get clips in 1 click. The session card populates with a fresh RTMP server URL and a unique stream key, copy both, you'll paste them in Meld in the next step.

The stream key changes every session. If you end and restart a session, the old key stops working, paste the fresh one.

Why Meld is the easiest
  • Native multistream

Two destinations work on the free plan, no Ultra tier, no plugin.

  • Custom RTMP built in

Add clive directly in Meld's stream settings.

  • Lightweight

Lower CPU footprint than OBS or Streamlabs, so the second output costs less.

Set up your main platform

If Meld is already pointed at Twitch, YouTube, or Kick, you're set. Skip to step 3.

Otherwise: open Meld → click the settings sliders icon in the bottom-left corner → Stream. Pick your platform, authenticate, save. This becomes your primary destination, clive will join as a secondary.

In Meld
  1. 01Settings (sliders icon, bottom-left)
  2. 02Stream tab
  3. 03Pick your platform
  4. 04Authenticate via OAuth (Twitch / YouTube / Kick)
  5. 05Save
03

Add clive as a second destination

Still in Settings → Stream, scroll past your existing platform tile until you see + Add Destination. Click it, choose Custom RTMP from the list.

Paste the two values from the credentials card. Name the destination clive so it's recognizable. Save.

Add Custom RTMP
  1. 01+ Add Destination
  2. 02Choose Custom RTMP
  3. 03Server URL → paste rtmps://ingest.clive.skeet.now/live
  4. 04Stream Key → paste your key
  5. 05Name → clive
  6. 06Save
04

Go live

Hit Go Live in Meld. Both destinations transition to live in parallel, you can see them both as active tiles in Meld's stream panel.

Cross-check your clive dashboard, the status pill flips from INGEST IDLE to RTMP LIVE. First clip lands 2–4 minutes after a moment worth clipping.

Troubleshooting

Common gotchas

"Custom RTMP" doesn't appear under Add Destination

Your Meld version is out of date, Custom RTMP shipped in Meld Studio 1.4. Update to the latest release from meldstudio.co and try again.

Meld saved the destination but only my platform goes live

Open the destination tile in Meld's stream panel and confirm the toggle is enabled. New custom destinations are sometimes saved disabled by default, flip it on, hit Go Live again.

Stream key field rejects my key

Meld trims whitespace on paste but won't strip line breaks. If you copied with a trailing newline, the key looks fine but fails validation. Click into the field, select all, retype the last character, or copy directly from the dashboard's copy button (which produces a clean string).

CPU usage jumped a lot after adding clive

Meld is lightweight but the second encoder pass still costs CPU. Switch your main encoder to hardware (NVENC / AMF / Apple VideoToolbox) in Meld's output settings, this frees CPU for the clive output without quality loss.

Clive dashboard stays INGEST IDLE after Go Live

In 90% of cases, this is the stream key mismatch. End the clive session, mint a fresh one, copy the new key into Meld's custom destination, restart your stream.

No clips appearing after a long stream

Open AI Directives in the dashboard. A narrow watch instruction can mean clive found nothing matching, broaden it ("clip moments where chat reacts, anything funny or impressive" is a solid baseline).

Ready

Activate a session and stream as you normally would.
